Who Are The ET Boys?
The ET Boys are making waves in the music industry with their distinctive sound and dynamic presence. This duo, comprised of Latino brothers from Chicago, burst onto the Nu Pop scene last summer with their hit single “Sober,” and they haven’t looked back since. With their debut album, “Forever Night,” set to release this November, it’s the perfect time to dive into the world of the ET Boys and understand what makes them unique.
The Origin Story
Born in Chicago and raised in South Florida, the ET Boys—Tacboy and Sharkeyes—were steeped in music from a young age. They received formal training in piano, guitar, and drums, and began performing while still in grade school. This early immersion in music laid the foundation for their unique sound, which blends various genres into what can best be described as the ET Boys Nu Pop sound.
Tacboy: The Frontman
Tacboy, the charismatic vocalist of the duo, has had a whirlwind year. Known for his striking stage presence and lyrical prowess, Tacboy has also ventured into acting with a supporting role in the upcoming movie “Buried Onions,” set to release in 2023. His foray into Nu House music with Pepper Gomez’s track “Oh My Heart” has garnered nearly 250K streams, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
In addition to their breakout single “Sober,” Tacboy has penned and performed several other tracks including “Long Night,” “Something Love,” “Nowhere,” “Rain or Sunshine,” “TIOD,” and “Poison Lipstick.” The ET Boys’ music videos, particularly “Sober” and “Long Night” directed by Domonick G, highlight Tacboy’s compelling performances. His collaborative spirit is evident in projects like “Not Around” with Rude Minor and “Libertad” with Carpente, Ken Carpenter, and Pepper Gomez. Recently, he teamed up with DJ Xtee Kilo Mokgari on the new house track “I’m in Love (with your body).”
Currently an IMG model based in New York City, Tacboy is not only thriving in music and modeling but also learning the ropes of the music industry with Wake Up! Music and Wake Up! Music Rocks. His journey is one of constant growth and creativity.
Sharkeyes: The Musical Mastermind
Behind the scenes, Sharkeyes is the driving force behind the ET Boys’ music. Every beat and melody you hear is crafted by him. Dubbed Sharkeyes Johnson by Tacboy due to his dark, piercing eyes, Sharkeyes excelled in classical piano and keyboards from a young age. He expanded his musical repertoire to include the ocarina, recorder, and various ethnic percussion instruments, eventually mastering the drums.
Sharkeyes’ talent for composition became evident during his college years, where he began producing tracks for the ET Boys. His debut in the music world came with the trancey track “Sometimes” on veteran House DJ Matt Warren’s 2018 album, “Music Is My Life.” With the ET Boys’ first album, “Forever Night,” nearing its release, Sharkeyes is already hard at work on their second album, continuing to push the boundaries of their sound.
The ET Boys Sound
The ET Boys’ music is a blend of melodic rap, electronic beats, and pop influences, creating a sound that is both fresh and familiar. Their innovative approach to music, combined with their diverse backgrounds and experiences, results in tracks that are catchy, emotive, and distinctly their own.
What’s Next?
As the ET Boys gear up for the release of “Forever Night,” fans and new listeners alike can expect more of their signature Nu Pop sound. With Tacboy’s magnetic performances and Sharkeyes’ masterful production, the ET Boys are poised to make a significant impact on the music scene.
